NIIMBOT D11 Label Maker Review

The great folks at NIIMBOT have done it again.  They have made another amazing 1/2″ label maker.  They have upped the game with a 300 dpi label maker called the NIIMBOT D11 ($27.99).  Also available at Amazon for $29.99

Their previous 1/2″ printer, the D110,  was a gem.  I reviewed it here.  There is a D110 upgraded for 2024 but this blog will focus on the new D11 for 2024.  Let’s talk about how cool of a label maker this is.

In The Box

Speaking of the box the NIIMBOT D11 comes packaged in a reasonably sized box.

There is almost nothing I hate more than oversized packaging.

Inside the box is the D11, a USB cable, a manual, and other information cards.

Simple and effective.

The label maker is well protected and mine arrived in perfect condition and working order.  NIIMBOT also included 3 additional rolls of labels.  Also, the D11 is available in 4 colors.  Additionally, there is a great selection of label tapes available to purchase.

You can be colorful and creative.

 

NIIMBOT D11 Rundown

I own some incredible industrial label makers that have every bell and whistle imaginable. However, almost all labelling that I do these days can be done on this machine.   The D11 is small, attractive, and unobtrusive.  Also, you’ll hardly notice it on your desk, counter, or in your crafty drawer.

We recently had some mice get in our beautiful country home in the woods and we began storing many of our pantry items in sealed containers.  Being able to quickly create legible labels from my iPhone while standing right in the pantry really made it a breeze to make and install the labelling.   The D11 is up to the task for all your simple labelling needs.  Additionally, whether you need to organize your pantry, or your tools, or make simple crafts you’ll love the ease and simplicity in which the D11 can be used.

1/2″ labels are perfect for labelling file folders and keeping all the important things in your life organized.

Apps

The D11 can be controlled via Bluetooth with either the NIIMBOT or NIIM app.  Additionally, the NIIM app has more templates, however, I found I had to create an account to log into the app.

I find that I can download the app on my MacBook Air and print from it.   I don’t believe that is intended or recommended, but it works.

The NIIMBOT app is pretty intuitive and easy to use.

NIIMBOT D11 Cool Trick

This is super useful and something I’d like to see a lot more label makers do.

So the D11 has a wrist strap.  Picture this.  A magnetic hook on the side of the refrigerator with the D11 on it.   This trick is so cool.  I’m going to use the D11 for a dedicated kitchen labeler.

You can also reprint the last label that you made.

Labels

I mentioned the variety of colorful labels that can be used earlier.  About the only other thing to mention about the labels is that they have an RFID chip inside them.  That means the labels are proprietary.  But with that RFID chip the machine detects which labels are installed in your app.

Some people don’t like proprietary labels however it is a tradeoff.  I like auto-detection.

Should You Buy The NIIMBOT D11

Yes.  You should.  I have a lot of experience now with NIIMBOT printers.  They all just work.  The app is adequate with lots of features.  You can even make pricing labels with the D11.

The fact that a single button push gives you a printed label with the date and time on it is huge in my opinion.

At the price point the NIIMBOT D11 is a bargain.  And despite whether or not you think you are organized……….You Aren’t.  BUY ONE.
