Inkwon Tag 4 In 1 Pocket Creative Studio

It’s been a minute since I have reviewed a label maker or printer. And I have to say it has been worth the wait. Showcased today is the Inkwon Tag 4 in 1 Pocket Creative Studio ($189).
The Inkwon Tag is still in a Kickstarter status but seems ready for public release soon. I love shaking down new tech like this before the public gets their hands on it.
In my opinion the strength in this device lies in its portability. Its small size and weight make it easy to toss in your travel bag, backpack, or suitcase. And I feel like it has some exceptional use cases. One of those being the ability to meet up with old friends, Take some selfies, and print them out and share them. I’m a believer that in the age of digital photos that we will all lose our precious photos one day or the chain will break when you pass from this earth and your lifetime of memories is trapped on a device no one can access. That’s a sad thought.
A Little Printing Background First
You may have heard the term “CNC” before. CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. Every device that prints, burns or cuts something along an X and Y axis is technically a CNC device. Printers are CNC devices.
What really makes the Inkwon Tag stand out in my opinion is that your printer output is not moving along the same old boring side to side (X axis) and up and down (Y axis) but rather prints in a sweeping motion. That’s not only cool but I promise you that you’ll watch it print and that it will both intrigue and amuse you. It is a conversation piece for sure.

Inkwon Tag First Print – Glossy Paper
Made a quick video showing one of the first things I printed with the Inkwon Tag. FUN!
Now let’s take a closer look and a trip around the Inkwon Tag.
Inkwon Tag Video Overview
Hey, it’s a YouTube world, I know. The written word is slowly fading away except for old timers like me. Also the bulk of this review is in this video.
Very Nice.
Inkwon Tag Strengths
As I mentioned earlier this printer would be a BLAST for meeting up with old friends and leaving everyone with a fun picture. Don’t get me started about kids. Whatever your child, niece, nephew, friends kid, etc. is into you can print it up and make them a sticker or a bunch of stickers.
I’m not saying the device is FOR kids but I’m saying it is a fun project to keep them amused and smiling.
Wife mad at you? Make a temp tattoo of her name and plaster it on yourself. I think I could think of a lot more fun things to do with this. I just think these things are big focal points and a good starting idea. The Inkwon Tag would also make a fun gift.
Any Weaknesses?
I don’t know yet but the only thing I could think of would be consumable costs. Having said that I have no idea what they will cost. Some literature I saw shows 3 print heads being $59. The small packs of paper could be burned through quickly so of course you will need access to more.
Bonus!
In addition to the Inkwon Tag I received a Swag box with a blank T-shirt (for iron on transfer), a carrying canvas bag (also probably for iron on transfer), some extra tattoo paper, an extra print head, and my wife flipped out over a small acrylic magnetic photo holder they sent me. Please, oh, please Inkwon, sell these. I thought it was cool, but my wife flipped over it. Making fridge magnets for family and friends is a cost effective way to say, “I Love You”.
And I love and recommend the Inkwon Tag printer.
